Granata’s Catering is an upscale catering company that serves the Upstate of South Carolina and surrounding areas. Granata’s Catering focuses on offering creative, colorful, and unusual food options as well as the traditional fair.

Granata’s Catering focuses on both off-premise and on-premise events. At our new location, we host business and social functions. Featured wine dinners are offered as well as Chef tastings.  Come join us for a scheduled cooking class in our Studio kitchen to hone your own culinary skills!  

Off premise events, the sky is the limit!  We have hosted events for up to 5000 guests.

Granata’s Catering has injected new life into the Upstate catering market by leveraging Chef Michael Granata’s culinary skills to develop creative and exciting new catering options.

Chef Michael Granata

A third generation chef, born and raised in New York City, Chef Michael Granata has a long and colorful culinary history.  His experience ranges from being a restaurant owner to executive chef, to food and recipe consultant.  He graduated from New York Technical College with a degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management.  While working on his degree, Granata participated in a foreign study exchange program at Bournemouth & Poole College of Higher Education in Bournemouth, England.  There he studied Auguste Escoffier classical cooking techniques and methodology.

Granata spent more than 30 years owning his restaurants in multiple sites across Manhattan, ranging from catering operations to full service restaurants.  While in New York he served a variety of customers, including the New York Stock Exchange.

Moving to Greenville, SC in 1999, he brings a distinctive culinary flair to the Upstate.   In addition to his passion for cooking, he has a passion for people.  He greets clients as friends and seeks to build relationships instead of customers.  Whether catering to a wedding for 500 or an intimate dinner party for two, Chef Granata works to make each event unique and customized.  Michael thinks in themes, textures and colors which truly sets him apart in cuisine creations. 

Granata has won numerous awards, including the New York Guild of Chefs "Chef of the Year" and two Silver Medals as Culinary Team Captain of the New York Guild of Chefs. He still serves as the Chairman of the Board of the New York Guild of Chefs, which is an elected position. Granata also holds two records in the Guinness Book of Records and is always looking for the right opportunity to earn another!
